Ledger Wallet on a phone
A practical guide to using Ledger Wallet on iPhone or Android and understanding USB versus Bluetooth hardware-wallet connections.
Do not assume every Ledger model connects to every phone in the same way. Connection options vary by hardware model, phone and operating system.
Basic mobile setup
Install the official mobile app
Use Ledger’s official website to reach the verified iOS App Store or Google Play listing.
Choose how your model connects
Supported devices may use Bluetooth or a compatible USB connection. Check Ledger’s current model-specific instructions before pairing.
Unlock your Ledger device
Enter the PIN on the hardware device itself.
Pair or connect from Ledger Wallet
Open the device connection flow in the mobile app. When a pairing or secure-connection confirmation appears, compare and approve the prompt on the physical device.
Add the accounts you want to view
If accounts are missing on mobile, add them in the mobile installation. Desktop and mobile installations can have different locally stored account lists.
Bluetooth connections
Bluetooth-capable Ledger models can pair with compatible phones. If pairing fails, remove stale pairing entries from both the phone and Ledger Wallet, restart Bluetooth and follow Ledger’s current pairing instructions for your model.
USB connections on mobile
Some combinations of Ledger devices and Android phones can use a compatible USB cable or adapter. Mobile USB support is model- and platform-specific, so check the official support article before buying an adapter or assuming a connection method will work.
Why desktop and mobile can show different accounts
Ledger Wallet installations store account and app settings locally. If the same accounts have not been added to both installations, the displayed lists or balances can differ. Re-adding an existing account with the same hardware wallet allows the app to scan for accounts associated with that device.
